 WORKSHOP DETAILS

Day 1-2: Core Method Acting & Scene Work with Alani iLongwe

This workshop guides the students as they gain a deeper grasp of the complexities of a character by examining the dramatic elements of the material. The goal is to move beyond conventional choices and use Method Acting techniques to develop a more artistic and authentic characterization of the scenes.

Relaxation & Sensory Exercises – Each day begins with Strasberg’s relaxation technique, followed by sensory exercises designed to strengthen concentration, imagination, and the actor’s ability to respond truthfully to imaginary circumstances.

Script Analysis & Beat Work – Alani places strong emphasis on script analysis. Actors will dissect scenes, identify beats, objectives, and obstacles, and learn how to break down text in a practical, playable way.

Character Exploration –Through guided exercises and scene work, participants will explore character psychology, given circumstances, and emotional life — building layered, grounded performances rooted in Method principles.

These two days establish a rigorous technical and analytical foundation, preparing actors for deeper emotional and performance work.

*each class is 6 hours long

Day 2-6: Method Acting & Scene Work with David Strasberg

Relaxation & Advanced Sensory Work– David continues the daily Method practice with deeper sensory exploration, refining the actor’s emotional accessibility and inner life.

Scene Work & Emotional Memory – Actors will apply Strasberg’s emotional memory technique to their scenes, developing authentic emotional truth and strengthening their personal connection to the character.

On-Camera Acting– A dedicated focus on acting for the camera, with filmed scene work, professional feedback, and guidance on adapting Method technique for screen performance.

Individual & Group Feedback– Participants receive detailed, personalized feedback aimed at expanding emotional range, precision, and artistic confidence.
